1. Dec 09,  · I was less familiar with this album, but I am a big fan of The Cars and wanted copies of all their albums. The third of their albums, Panorama, was perhaps not as popular as the rest but does have a few hits like “Touch And Go”, “Gimme Some Slack” and “Don't Tell Me No”. Overall it is a solid album and has that classic “Cars sound”/5(K).

7. Background. The record marked a change from the upbeat pop rock and hard rock of the group's previous albums, representing a more aggressive and experimental sound. Billboard Magazine said that while Panorama retained the Cars' minimalist approach from their debut album, it sounded sufficiently different to avoid having the group sound like a caricature of itself.

8. Sep 22,  · Cars, Candy-O, and Panorama is a logical creative progression. What followed was a logical creative regression, a stasis, indeed for a while a highly successful commercialization. For several years I considered Panorama the best in much the same manner that Relayer by Yes was the best, the pinnacle of creative exploration. In subsequent years, though, I have simply enjoyed the first three Cars.
